Reason #675,333 why the Minnesota State Fair matters

I never would have thought that any state fair anywhere would get an act like Gnarls Barkley to play at it. Yet, it's happening. Gnarls Barkley had a hit a couple of years ago with "Crazy." It's a really fascinating combination of a singing Cee-Lo with a DJ best known for mashing the Beatles' White Album with Jay-Z's Black Album to make the Grey Album (obviously a bootleg). Experimental hip-hop generally doesn't get play at a state fair. State fair music tends to play it safe, so this was really nuts to read.

But, when 1.6 million people attend a state fair, you can afford to take chances with your grandstand acts. This would never happen at the Wisconsin State Fair. 400,000 more people live in Wisconsin than Minnesota, but 600,000 less people go to the Wisconsin State Fair than the Minnesota one.

That is a pretty hip booking for the State Fair, good sir. And I've actually heard of that song and even like it.
